Weird blocklist bug only happening on one person's computer

Anyone seen this happen? It’s on a v8 site, on blocklist, but only happening on one person’s machine.

This error prevents blocklist opening, so they can’t edit any content. Must be network related, but it’s bugging me. Error suggests it’s content related, but it works fine on other machines. Conditions are

  • Only happening on one machine (regardless of browser)
  • Works fine on other machines.
  • Only started happening recently
  • Happens regardless of which user is tried on that machine
  • No VPN

I would suggest either browser extensions (but if on multiple browsers that seems doubtful) or changes in the firewall, DNS even or maybe a WAF blocking things specifically for this user.

Is there something in the database of that local instance that is wrong?

The instance is the same, it’s exactly the same content, and even the same use, just the network and the computer, which Ive not seen before

These are basically where I landed myself, not got any more ideas

Maybe delete the local umbraco.config cache file?

It’s not hosted on this machine, it’s an editor machine, so there’s no local cache, sorry if I wasn’t clear - I’ve tried clearing browser caches etc, even new browsers - it must be a network/firewall issue

I’ve seen weirdness with some of the new startup fibre broad band companies blocking ports and weird DNS issues. Get them to try on the same machine and browser but use a wifi hotspot?

They just reported it “started working” which is not at all helpful, but I am guessing something to do with local DNS or DNS Cache

On their existing connection - e.g. nothing changed? I hate these kinds of bugs / issues.
