I’m looking for information on building my own Starter Kit. The information I have run across so far is either out of date or missing important information.
The Creating a Package page (Creating a Package | Umbraco CMS) is a bit outdated, as it looks like it was written for Umbraco 9. It mentions downloading a package.zip file, but the section on building a nuget package does not mention where to place the package.zip or package.xml, only that we copy files from the project that was used to build package.zip (???).
I have DocTypes and Views so the download is only a package.xml file. I’m not sure what to do with the file. I also need to include a DLL in the package.
Paul Seal has a create writeup on building a starter kit (How to create and publish a simple Umbraco package), if you are using Umbraco 7, and probably pre-DotNet Core versions. Thanks Paul your posts have been immensely helpful.
This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://our.umbraco.com/forum/111507-updated-tutorial-on-creating-a-starter-kit-package
