Umbraco.Community.Bookmarks package released

Hi all,

I’ve just released my first v17 package which allows editors to create bookmarks for content and media and have easy and instant access to content/media regularly consulted/edited
It was a first attempt to work with some AI assisted coding using Claude and Copilot CLI’s and the umbraco backoffice skills…. It turned out to be a great experience on how these tools can help delivering great results.

Package has been developed against v17.3.3 and can be found on nuget at NuGet Gallery | Umbraco.Community.Bookmarks 17.3.3 and GitHub GitHub - netaddicts/umbraco-community-bookmarks: Bookmarks for Umbraco backoffice · GitHub

The idea for the package was first announced during my last visit to the umbraco community teams visit in Odense (2025), but we never ever got to release anything until now.

As always, suggestions for features and improvements are much appreciated.

Hope your editors can enjoy this extra feature

Cheer,

Dirk

Fantastic work, @netaddicts! Would you be willing to write up a Blog post or Skrift article about your process and learnings? I think it would be super valuable for others dipping a toe into AI-assisted V17 development!

I really would love to, but currently lacking a bit of time due to some project deadlines… I’m sure I can start drafting something, but don’t put me a deadline now, I can’t promise any dates…

Whether to do a write up, or when is totally up to you, I just wanted to express my feeling that it would be well received.

Good luck on your current projects.

Did people see this and quickly jump in before you released this as I have seen a few packages of this released just recently.
I have learned in the past sometimes to keep my mouth shut when working on things.

Doesn’t matter, there’s always multiple ways to do things… And I’m trusting the community to choose whatever they think works best for their scenario. I’m not judging anything or anyone. I’ve been pondering with this idea for a while, we even kick started it during the umbraco community visit last year, but never got finalized. But with the new umbraco skills, I was eager to finish it and see how it could help me speed up the development (Also have internal client asking for this feature). And yes, there’s other packages with similar features, doing it differently as well. But it’s not a competition. Rather 2 packages doing similar things in different ways. Again, up to you (and community) to decide what works best
