Umbraco 14 User Start Content Node Bug?

I have a user who has a content start node setup to ensure they can only create content in that folder. However, when they login to the backend the + icon appears next to the “Content” node, suggesting they can add content at the root, which they can’t as their start node is a child of the root.

When i try and add content and publish, i get the api error in the bottom corner saying no permissions, which is what i would expect (although would be nice to not have the + node at all)

However, when I log back in as admin, I can see the content the user attempted to create is there, albeit not published, am I missing something or is this a bug?

14 was a massive overhaul, so it’s very likely a bug (certainly sounds like one to me).

14 is EOL at the end of this month so won’t receive any updates; I’d suggest testing this on v15 and logging an issue on the GitHub repo if you can recreate.

Thanks Richard, yeah upgrading to 15 resolves this issue.
