Topics shouldn't close after 5 days

I’m seeing a message at the bottom of various posts about them"closing" after only 5 days. I don’t think we should close any topic without a specific reason. I’ve often added a new reply to a post that was years old, since I know that people will see it when searching.

Also, got this error here:

I LOVE that close (at some point).

I understand you personally are trying to be helpful, but 99% (scientific number) of the time, a really old thread gets dragged up by someone just saying: “any update?” or “that didn’t work for me” with no additional context. And then it notifies 12 (scientific number) people who have no idea how to help either… it’s frustrating.

I am open to ideas as to how long they should stay open but I have been wanting this particular feature for a long time.

You shouldn’t be able to even see that tag in Questions… weird.

ps. I’ve moved this thread to Meta

I really can’t find the tag when trying to use it in the Questions category, maybe it’s a quirk on the mobile version?

Ps. I would recommend on mobile for Android to skip the app and use the website version. You can install it as a PWA from Chrome based browsers

I was adding the post directly from the tags page -

Clicked on the tag:

Then typed in my post and hit submit. That’s when I saw the message

Definitely more than 5 days… Maybe 6 months? that should cover it as long as the version is active
