Hello,
We are in the process of trying to figure out the best way to distribute and the contents of our media directory for a load balanced Umbraco site. Currently we are trying to share the ‘media’ directory on a master server. On the slave server in IIS we map to the ‘media’ folder from the master server as a virtual directory. Basically I would like all the slave IIS websites to read from the "master" servers media directory. I’m trying to get it to behave like a bootleg SAN IN theory I think this set up should work but we have run into a couple of hickups.
Even though I have the media folder mapped as a virtual directory on the slave site in IIS I’m still unable to get the images to display when you go to the site on the slave server.
Is there some other setting that I’m overlooking?
FYI We are hosting the site in Amazon web services and we are using private IP addresses to map the media folder. I’ve also checked the share permissions as well. Any advice would be helpful
Thanks
Jason
