Importing content from a different CMS into Umbraco

Hi,

We would like to convert a site from a different CMS to Umbraco.

I’m looking for suggestions/guidance on how to import a lot of content.

I had done some prototyping on V8 with writing code for each content type that needed to be imported, but only had a few content types in that case.

In this case there are a lot (too many) of content types and I’m wondering if there is a better approach.

I’ll also need a way to import a large number of image and pdf files that go with the content.
