I used to be a ‘Regular’ when it comes to trust level. So I would occasionally add tags to topics if they were missing to categorize them better. However, I seem to be unable to do this anymore. Looking at the badges, I see that I’m no longer ‘Regular’ and in fact, only UMB.FYI is now a regular. So something chaged?
ChatGPT answer, but this is correct:
you can be automatically downgraded from Regular (TL3) back to Member (TL2).
Here’s how it works:
- Discourse checks TL3 eligibility daily based on the last 100 days of activity.
- If a user no longer meets the TL3 criteria (e.g., not active enough, stopped reading, too many flags, etc.), they’re automatically demoted to TL2.
- When they meet the requirements again, they’ll be promoted back automatically.
So TL3 isn’t permanent — it’s a “rolling trust” level that depends on ongoing participation.
So it’s just that you’ve been a bit quiet recently probably, you’ll get it back, I’m sure!
