Does the self hosted version use Discourse AI?

If so are there plans to use it, if so perhaps need to be very visible and clear that the content in here will be used to train an AI model etc.

Also are there any intentions to allow AI bots to scrape this forum. I have no problems but again perhaps something to put into a signup flow to make people aware perhaps that their content could be used.

I haven’t installed it yet. I don’t think there’s many compelling features and we had a meeting with the advisory board yesterday and “if it is truly useful and worth the environmental cost” was our conclusion.

Additionally:

  • It will cost HQ money
  • One great use would be to detect spam posts - let’s try the built-in anti-spam features first
  • Might be worth it for generating alt text for uploaded images

The other features, I’ve played with them, but I didn’t see the value of summarizing a topic or generating a post title, or spell/grammar checking posts.
