It’s time for a double (or triple depending how you look at it) updates for Advanced Permissions! The main packages for v17 and v18 are updated and the optional AI add-on is finally ported to Umbraco 18!
The main package updates
Advanced Permissions v17.4.0 and v18.2.0 introduce a very important and cool feature: cross-browser and tab notifications to keep content up to date (for the nerds: a SignalR connection). This meant that the permissions can react to changes made by other on the fly.
For instance, when you edit a permission, the access viewer will immediately update the moment the changed permissions are saved. This makes sure that the access viewer is always up to date.
The permission editors themselves will also update when the permissions are changed from somewhere else (an other tab, an other browser window, an other editor, AI, you name it). This gives us the oppertunity to also spot possible conflicts. If someone has changed and stored a permission that you have as an unsaved change it wil now alert you:
So this is useful for everybody, but expecially when you are working with multiple windows in my UmbraDesktop package.

Advanced Permissions AI addon
The advanced permission optional AI addon is finally ported to Umbraco 18. It gives Umbraco CoPilot and the Umbraco CoPilot Workspace view tools to understand how advanced permissions work and how to audit permission questions.
