A little too easy to delete your own post

There’s a delete icon on a the body of each post for the author. If you tap it there’s no “yes I want to delete” check, and no undo option either, an accidental tap while heading for the copy link icon and the post is gone. Some usability feedback perhaps? I can’t be the only ham fisted user out there

This is probably something that is only manageable by Discourse themselves. You could put in a UX concern there perhaps?

There’s an undo Button immediately after you do it

And when you miss that one, it’s under the … Menu

That’s strange, I couldn’t see an undo in the menu anywhere at the time and if I revisit the post can’t see one now either.

At the time I was using a desktop browser, but based on your screen shots I’ve looked in the app too and still cannot find an undo there. Possibly it is time limited like other edits?

Aah sorry, you’re right, it’s my admin powers.. I just tried with my test user and indeed, it is much too easy to make that mistake  I’ll see if I can find something in the settings to make undelete available to non-admins.

Awesome,

To quote Douglas Adams…

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

It appears I’m excellent tester of “foolproof” systems
