Upgrading Umbraco 13 to 17: What We Learned

We’ve recently finished upgrading a fairly substantial Umbraco site from v13 → v17, and there were definitely a few more gotchas than just bumping the NuGet packages :sweat_smile:

We’ve written up some of the things we hit along the way, API changes, long-running DB migrations, replacing macros, Media Picker changes, rebuilding AngularJS property editors, Forms migrations, Vary by Culture issues and a few other surprises.

Hopefully it saves someone else a bit of head-scratching if you’re about to tackle the same upgrade!

I’m coming to the end of two very large, complex site upgrades, have been keeping a list of all the issues that I hit. when I’m finished, happy to post my list here! :grinning_face:
