Umbraco 17 Update Issue

Hi,

Can any one advise on how to update a .CSHTML file in production, I pushed a new version of a CSHTML file from dev to the production box (We Self Host).

Once the page was copped over I stop and started the site and it not showing the update, I ended up having to stop the site, the app pool and then replace the Umbraco.EXE file and then restart the site and the page update worked.

If there a way just to Update a .CSHTML file event just a small bit of HTML and get it to work on production with out having to do a republish or replace the Umbraco.EXE file.

Thanks
Darren

Hi @darrenhunterEmerald

If you’re running in Production runtime mode, runtime compilation is switched off and the views get compiled into your project DLL when you publish. The .cshtml files on disk then aren’t used, they’re only really there so the back office can show and edit the templates. That’s why copying a new file in does nothing until the compiled DLL is deployed too.

Hi,

Thank you for the update, I thought it may be some thing like that!
